South Korean actress Go Youn-jung has switched to a new smartphone, and fans noticed.
The actress previously showed herself using an iPhone 17 Pro on Instagram. But in photos from her recent trip to Paris, she was seen using Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8.
From iPhone to a Foldable Phone
Go Youn-jung shared photos from her Paris trip on social media in late September.
Among the photos was a Galaxy Z Fold8. She is not a Samsung advertising model, making the change especially interesting.
Her smartphone choice quickly caught attention because she had publicly used an iPhone just a few months earlier.

More People Are Switching
Go Youn-jung’s change comes as Samsung is seeing more customers move from other smartphone brands to its latest foldable phones.
Samsung said 23% of Galaxy Z Fold8 buyers in the United States previously used smartphones from competing brands.
In Southeast Asia and Oceania, the number of customers switching from other brands to the Fold8 series increased by more than 60% compared with previous generations.
Samsung also said the share of new Fold8 series customers who previously used Apple’s iOS was 1.6 times higher than with the previous Fold7 and Flip7 generation.
Why Are People Switching?
Samsung has been trying to make its foldable phones thinner, lighter and easier to use.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 is designed to offer a large screen while still being small enough to carry when folded.
Samsung has also made it easier for iPhone users to move their data to a Galaxy phone. Users can transfer photos, contacts, passwords and other information wirelessly.
The latest Galaxy phones also support easier file sharing between Galaxy and iPhone users, reducing some of the inconvenience of switching between the two ecosystems.

A Small Change That Got Attention
Go Youn-jung’s phone choice does not necessarily mean she officially endorses the Galaxy Z Fold8.
But seeing a popular young actress switch from an iPhone to a foldable phone is certainly interesting.
For Samsung, it is also a sign that foldable phones may be attracting a younger audience and people who previously preferred Apple’s iPhone.
