BLACKPINK’s Lisa has landed on the moon — at least in Nike’s latest campaign.
The K-pop star is the face of Nike Sportswear’s new Moon Shoe campaign for Fall 2026. The campaign brings together Nike’s early sneaker history, Lisa’s global popularity and a classic Korean song from the 1960s.
Lisa Goes to the Moon
In the campaign, Lisa appears in a lunar setting wearing the latest version of Nike’s Moon Shoe.
The campaign images show her stepping onto the moon, leaving a shoe print, planting a Nike Sportswear flag and standing on a lunar podium.
The space-themed visuals play with the name of the shoe while giving Nike’s historic design a modern pop-culture connection.
A Shoe From Nike’s Early Days
The original Moon Shoe dates back to the early 1970s.
Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman developed the shoe while experimenting with ways to give runners better traction. The design became one of Nike’s earliest examples of its famous waffle sole technology.
More than 50 years later, Nike has brought the Moon Shoe back as a lifestyle sneaker with a slimmer, modern design.
A 1964 Korean Song
One of the most interesting parts of the campaign is its music.
Nike uses “Mister Magic Moon,” a 1964 song by The Kim Sisters with Joe Tanner’s Orchestra, as the soundtrack.
The Kim Sisters were a Korean musical group who achieved international success decades before K-pop became a global phenomenon.
That gives the campaign an unusual connection between two generations of Korean popular music — The Kim Sisters from the 1960s and Lisa, one of today’s biggest K-pop stars.
Lisa and Nike
Lisa’s relationship with Nike began before the Moon Shoe campaign.
In January 2026, Nike announced a long-term partnership with Lisa. She told Nike that she had worn the brand’s sneakers during her trainee years and even saved her allowance to buy a pair of Nike Dunk Highs.
Now, Lisa is appearing at the center of a campaign for one of Nike’s most historic shoe designs.
From the Past to the Present
The campaign brings together three different stories.
The Moon Shoe represents Nike’s early history. The Kim Sisters represent an earlier generation of Korean music that reached audiences overseas. Lisa represents the global reach of modern K-pop.
It is an unusual combination, but it gives the campaign a strong connection between Korean pop culture and global fashion.
