EJAE Marries Music Producer Sam Kim in Seoul Wedding

EJAE, the Korean-American singer-songwriter known for her work on Netflix’s hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters, has married music producer and composer Sam Kim in Seoul.

The couple exchanged vows on October 17, 2026, at Stage 28, a cultural venue in Seoul’s Gangdong District. Their wedding photos and details were published by Vogue on October 20.

A Wedding with a Personal Connection

The Seoul venue held special meaning for EJAE because it stands on the former home site of her maternal grandfather, veteran Korean actor Shin Young-kyun. EJAE has said that she spent part of her childhood there with her grandparents.

The couple had originally planned to hold their wedding in California in November. They later moved the ceremony to South Korea and brought the date forward by about a month.

EJAE told Vogue that preparing for the wedding was hectic and somewhat stressful, but described the process as teamwork that ultimately came together successfully.

From Music Collaborators to Life Partners

EJAE and Sam Kim first met during a songwriting session in May 2017. Their professional collaboration eventually developed into a romantic relationship, and they became engaged in 2025.

EJAE gained international recognition for contributing to the music of KPop Demon Hunters. She provided the singing voice for Rumi and co-wrote and performed “Golden,” one of the film’s signature songs.

Before her international breakthrough, EJAE trained at SM Entertainment and built a career as a songwriter, with credits including Red Velvet’s “Psycho” and aespa’s “Drama.”

The wedding marks a new chapter for the artist, whose work has reached audiences around the world through K-pop and the global success of KPop Demon Hunters.
